Solubility of a substance is defined as mass of the solute in grams which dissolves in 100g of a solvent to form a saturated solution. For example, 100g of water at 25° C can dissolve 36.5 g of sodium chloride to obtain a saturated solution.
A solution is obtained when a substance is dissolved in another substance. The substance which is dissolved to obtain a solution is called solute, whereas the substance in which the solute is dissolved is called solvent.
A mixture is that form of matter in which two or more substances (elements or compounds) are present in any proportion. A mixture may be homogeneous or heterogeneous depending upon the substances present therein.
Elements are the basic constituents of all matter. An element is the simplest form of matter, which cannot split into simpler substances by any chemical or physical method.
