The location of the reception room must be, as far as possible, near the main entrance or near the private office where the visitor has to go. The first impression is the best impression therefore; the reception room should have enough light, good ventilation etc. The visitor must have a homely feeling, while he is in the reception room.

Merchandise can be displayed. There can be attractive show windows in it. It is a common practice to supply reading matters-current magazines, booklets of certain good products, booklets of the services of the company, etc. to the visitors, The reception room must be self-contained, i.e., there must be facility for drinking water, toilet etc.
