ii. Quite a few animal species are also endangered.

They are endangered because of the following reasons:

i. Hunting of birds and animals by man for recreation and commercial purposes.

ii. Pollution due to chemical and industrial waste.

iii. Acid deposits.

iv. Introduction of foreign species.

v. Reckless cutting of forests to bring land under agriculture, in-habitation and industries.

vi. Activities of poachers and smugglers.
