Abhinav Bindra came into limelight in the world of sports when he broke the world junior record. Since then his only wish has been to win an Olympic medal for India.
Ranked in the top 10, Abhinav has won 24 gold, silver and bronze medals in international competitions such as the World Cup, the World Championship, the Commonwealth Meet and the South Asian Federation Games.
He set a world record with an exceptional score of 598 out of 600 at the Luxemburg Open National Championship last year. In 2000, he equaled the world record in the air rifle event during the World Cup in Munich.
Abhinav, who is pursuing graduation in Corporate Management, has recently won a gold and silver medal at the 11th International Baltic Cup in Denmark; apart from a bronze at the Inters hoot Den sag, Netherlands. During the 2000 Sydney Games, he missed a place in the final round by a point and finished 11th.
