My dear Aziz,

I had promised to meet you at Churchgate at 5 p.m. yesterday and see with you ‘Lagaan’ at Metro. You must have waited for me for a long time and cursed me for not having turned up. I apologise to you for my inability to meet you yesterday.

As I was about to leave my house for Churchgate, one of my neighbours, a lady, requested me to fetch a doctor as her eight-year-old son was seriously ill. I went to my family doctor who, as usual, was very busy. After some time he came with me to my neighbours, house, examined the patient and prescribed certain medicines. The boy is now better.

So, you see, I had a good reason for not having kept the appointment.

ADVERTISEMENTS:

Yours sincerely,
