Man uses science in various ways. He has applied it to his day-to-day work with great advantage. Man is not only satisfied with the gifts of science but has also misused it a lot.
Nowadays everything is done with the help of machine. We get our water-supply from the Municipal Water-works. People go to schools, colleges, and offices by auto rickshaws, scooters, motor cycles, cars, buses, etc. They also travel in trains and aero planes. We have grown too lazy to walk even a small distance. We grind our grains in mills. Thus the place of manual work has been taken up by machine. Man has grown weak and unhealthy.
The increase of machines in industries has led to unemployment in the country. One machine can do the work of hundreds of workers. Thus, the fate of those workers is very indistinct after the introduction of machine. Machine has discouraged the cottage industry.
Capitalism is another great product of science. The great capitalists exploit labours. The country faces large scale poverty. Daily labourers who work hard do not even get a day’s full meal.

Science has increased human unhappiness and dissatisfaction. Science has given us many comforts and luxury. It has manufactured beautiful garments and other costly luxurious things which are not possible for a poor man to buy. So they feel unhappy and thus human misery goes up.
War is the greatest example of the misuse of science. The production of fatal weapons like atom bombs, hydrogen bombs, ballistic missiles, etc. has put man’s life in danger. The use of these weapons in war will surely cause large scale massacre. Indeed the entire human civilization will be destroyed.
Science has led man to lose complete faith in God. Man has grown fond of reasoning, rationalization and materialism. This is the greatest evil of science. Science has turned to be a bad master instead of being a good servant.
