Science is special methodology and that determines its nature. Sociology attempts at scientific study of the social phenomena. It cannot be a science like a natural science say Physics, Chemistry of Biology but is certainly a Science.
Every science has certain basic concepts. Thus is true of sociology and also Rural Sociology. These concepts are used in study and analysis of various problems that from the subject matter of sociology.
For Indian Rural Sociology is more important than in any other country. India as we have already seen is basically a country of the villages.

Nelson rightly remarked that up to the comparatively recent times the story of man is largely the story of rural man. So Rural Society is the basic foundation of human life, key stone of the developmental process and the basic unit of social structure.
Community Development Programme as we know is a socio economic programme aimed at development and re construction of the Rural Society.
