As we grow up and enter our teens we are no more fascinated by paper boats but we still enjoy having hot tea and ‘bhajiyas’ during rain. Then, when we become adults we continue enjoying the monsoon, sitting at home and seeing the rain through our windows.

The Rainy Season begins in India when the South West Monsoon winds begin to blow over this country. The season is felt in the months of Asaadha and Shravana as per the Oriya calendar. But in fact it lasts in India from the second week of June till the end of September.
India is a tropical country. Here Summer Season is felt more prominently than any other season. Ordinarily, we begin to feel the summer heat from the month of April to the second week of June. In Oriya Calendar, Baisakh and Jyestha are the two months which comprise the Summer Season.
There are six seasons in-a year. Winter is one of them. It is felt in India from the month of November till the end of February. It covers the two months named Pausha and Magha as per the Oriya Calendar. Normally, the days are short and nights are long in this season.
In our country, we are supposed to have six seasons — Summer, Rains, Early Autumn, Late Autumn, Winter and Spring. Actually there are summer, Rains and winter. But we can feel the delicate shades of difference between Early and Late Autumn, or between spring and summer.
