1. The Jain temples in Mount Abu were built by the ministers of the Solanki rulers of Gujarat exhibit sculptural decoration of most marvellous richness and delicacy. These temples are built of pure marble. Each temple consists of a sanctum, a closed hall, a pillared portico and an assembly hall.

2. The whole structure is placed in quadrangular court. The ceiling of the Vinala Vasahi temple is circular with eleven concentric rings loaded with rich carvings and culminates into a central pendant.

3. The most impressive carving on the ceiling is that of the figures of the sixteen Vidya Devis or goddesses of knowledge. Each figure is contained with an air cool, their high semi detached projection giving them the appearance of supplementary braces supporting the vault.

4. The ceiling of a Luna Vasahi temple is equally lavish with magnificent carvings and culminates in a larger and more ornamented central pendent.
