a. The Fascists:

The Fascists were known as the ‘Black Shirts’ because they paraded dressed in black shirt.

b. Saviour of Italy:

After the Italian king invited Mussolini to form government the country was faced with a lot of problems. Despite taking certain steps for the improvement of economy the people remained very much discontented.

In order to suppress such discontented people he followed vigorous foreign policy. It was in the wake of such an attempt that Mussolini started a full-fledged Fascist aggression in Europe and outside it.

c. Fascist Dictatorship:

Mussolini established his dictatorial power in Italy between 1922 and 1926.

(1) In the election of 1924 the fascist Party of Italy won the largest number of seats in the Italian Parliament.

(3) He brought an end to any scope of opposition against him.

(4) Mussolini also came to an understanding with the Pope of Rome.

(5) Mussolini by undertaking some welfare measures earned confidence of the Italian people. It was through these measures that Mussolini established Fascist dictatorship in Italy.
