In May, 1999, Kargil Mission by Pakistani Soldiers was exposed and Indian army started counter attack to remove them.

Indian position was not dominant on the battlefield as intrusors from Pakistan had their bases on higher positions and Indians were at the foot of mountains, so could not attack well efficiently. But spirit of Soldiers started to gave result; one by one post were recaptured from them.

Not only on military front, even in Political and strategic front also Pakistan’s hope were disappearing quickly as support from America and China could not be gained, as it would have hoped for. On the other hand, from International Level, the Act of Pakistan was condemned in harsh words and a positive pressure was being increased to withdraw its army.

By this time India had not only gained international support but also had planned “Operation Vijay”, an air force action to recapture Kargil. The operation succeeded, in a very meaning full way. Ultimately Pakistan failed in its attempt and had to recall soldiers. Even in Pakistan perse, two groups emerged, one who opposed the intrusion and another of hard-core Islamic leaders who opposed withdrawal, both against the Govt. Thus, India’s strategic and diplomatic tactics defeated Pakistan in all field.
