There lived a poor peasant with his wife in a small town. They were not having children for a long time. After many years, his wife gave birth to a tiny child. He was as tall as a thumb. So they named him Tom Thumb. Years passed after his birth, but Tom Thumb did not grow any larger.
Once upon a time, on a lonely hillside just outside the town, there stood a small cottage. In the cottage lived a widow with her two beautiful daughters. They were named Snow-White and Rose-Red after the two rose bushes that grew on either side of the cottage.
There lived a woman in a small house in a distant land. She wanted to have a baby girl. She went to the neighborhood witch and said, "I want to have a baby girl, sweet and pretty like rose!"
Once upon a time, there was a small village. The villagers of that village were lazy. They did not like doing any work. They had found out an easy way of making money. Outside their village was a tree that bore sweet, but poisonous fruits.
Brahmadatta was a virtuous king who ruled over the kingdom of Banaras. Under him, the kingdom prospered and the people were happy. Ramanand was his royal priest who helped him in ruling the kingdom wisely.
Rajgriha and Janapad were two flourishing cities in ancient India. Both of these cities were under the reign of King of Magadha. Ramesh and Deepak were two rich merchants.
One night, packs of wolf were wandering around in search of food. Their leader was a clever, old jackal who could sniff any sort of danger in the air. He knew very well how to protect the members of his pack.
One day, a Jackal came up to him and said, “Your majesty, you are such a mighty ruler. But you have no attendants to wait upon you. I have come to you offer my services to you. I hope, you will accept my offer and make me your humble servant”.
Once, some goats lived in a cave near a thick forest. Everyday, they grazed in a green pasture that lay near their cave. It had green luscious grass. The goats had plenty of grass through out the year. They fed on the luscious grass and grew fat.
Many years ago, a king ruled over a large kingdom. He was a pious king. He ruled wisely and fairy. His kingdom was flourishing. His subjects were honest and kind. There was everything in the kingdom that a king could aspire for. His subjects loved and respected him.
