Fire investigation can be a cumbersome and technical undertaking where is major emergency. (i) One specific manager should explicitly identify as having overall responsibility for fire safety. Departments will have their own appropriate fire safety duties: engineer will be in charge of preventive maintenance, the telephone operators have specific communication duties and the decorator/ purchase may be required to see that certain material are resistant. But a single person must be in charge of entire program.
(ii) Policy creation refers to making the appropriate rules, for example, a policy rule may be need to ensure that when a maintenance problem is found in some piece of equipment, it is repaired in a timely manner. Similar policy rules should be created to cover inspections (who will do them, how often) and investigation.
(iii) Finally, it is necessary to see that once these policies are made, are carried out, or executed, correctly. This last aspect will be the time-consuming and take the most effort.
