The geographical and historical location of India and China makes their traditional rivals in Asia. There relations become positively better and antagonistic from 1961 onwards. Their rivalry and tendency of territorial aggrandizement was more ideological. China began by annexing Tibet as part of its policy to propagate beyond its borders the new communist doctrine under the command of Chou-en-Lie. Then in October 1962, it launched a massive aggression on the NEFA front and all along the border, which mauled India and appropriated large areas of the Indian territory.

In addition to this, China has befriended Pakistan through a Treaty, thus sporting at one strake India, America and Russia. It has all along been aiding and abetting Pakistan in its armed conflicts with India. Though their sums to be some change in the Chinese attitude towards India, yet to an intelligent student of defence studies the position is one of waiting, keeping the threat of onslaught poisoned on India. India can ill afford to ignore this substantial to her security.
