In the choice of the material to be included in the curriculum the teacher should be guided by the principles stated below:

(i) The teacher should take into account the nature and psychology of the child at various stages of development.

(ii) Due emphasis should be given to the special needs, occupation, social tradition of the community to which the child belongs and geographical features.

(iii) The curriculum should be governed by our educational ideology and should be influenced by our conception of the life of human beings.
