One of the earliest revolutionaries, Wasudev Phadke successfully organised members of the Ramosi tribe in the Bombay Presidency for a revolt against the British. He raided several British installations and seized money from government treasuries. He was finally arrested in July 1897 and sentenced to transportation for life. He died in February 1883 in Aden, after observing a fast unto death.
