The scope of salesmanship is very vast and is not confined merely to selling goods to customers. It includes many things in its orbit, like transport, repairing, teaching, painting, banking, ‘legal, medicine, insurance, and so on.’
The term, sociology has been derived from the Latin word, 'Societas' or 'Socius' meaning society or associate and the Greek word, 'Logos' meaning theory or study or science. Etymologically, then, sociology human society or of human association.
The term 'Sociology' was coined by Auguste Comte, a French philosopher in 1839. It is the youngest of all social sciences. Sociology is the outcome of man's search for a more valid, and precise knowledge about the nature of man and the society.
Scope means the span or the converge. In other words, scope of a subject projects the idea of the entire gamut of the study. It is the subject-matter. For a common man, salesmanship might mean a simple task of selling goods and services.
