The powers of both the Houses with regard to the passing of bills are not the same: The Lok Sabha controls the purse of the nation whereas the Rajya Sabha has virtually no powers. A money bill can originate only in the Lok Sabha. A money bill is generally related to the imposition, remission or alteration of any tax.
