The atmosphere may be divided into different layers depending their distance from the Earth’s surface. There is no marked between the layers.
Now let us discuss the harmful effects of some specific particulates, especially the dusts containing metallic particles. Metals such as zinc, mercury, lead, copper, cadmium, etc. Are released into the atmosphere during isolation and refining of these metals and also through use of pesticides
Modern human activities are responsible for release of huge quantities of CO2 in the atmosphere. The major activities, which contribute towards this, are burning of fossil fuels and cultivation of soil.
The earth’s atmosphere has been evolving over the billions of years and will continue to do so. This evolution takes place very slowly and in a balanced manner.
A cover of gases surrounding the earth is called the earth’s atmosphere or simply as atmosphere. Atmosphere extends from the earth’s surface to about 1000km. But about 99% of the atmospheric air is present without 40 km from the earth’s surface.
All living organisms on the earth are protected from the harmful radiation coming from the sun by the ozone gas present in the stratosphere. Ozone gas is formed by the action of sunlight only oxygen of the air in the atmosphere.
