A person may be deprived of his citizenship due to any of the following reasons:
(a) Continuous residence outside the country, resulting in termination of citizenship in India.
(b) Voluntary resignation and acquisition of another citizenship.
(c) Disloyalty and offences against the state, i.e., citizenship can be terminated on account of treason or disloyalty towards the country, desertion from the army or committing of a heinous crime.

(d) Service under an alien government.
(e) By marriage, i.e., when a woman marries an alien, she ipso facto becomes the citizen of the husbands’ country.
