Sufism : Sufism was a reform movement within Islam which greater stress on free thinking, liberal ideas and toleration. The Sufis believed in the equality of all human beings and brotherhood mankind. The Sufi movement started in Persia. Some of the Sufi sa also came to India. They began to preach their liberal ideas and to remove the gulf between the Hindus and the Muslims and bro them together.

Some of the great Sufi saints of India were as follows-

Hazrat Khawaja Moinuddin Chisti:

He was the first preacher who migrated to India from Persia. He advised his folio to live as brothers and respect all religions. He started Christian Silsila. He died in 1236 AD,

He laid emphasis on Hindu and Muslim brotherhood.

Shaikh Salim Chisti:

He was also a very popular Sufi saint his time. His Dargah is at Fatehpur Sikri.

Shaikh Bahauddin Zakaria:

His activities were confined to Punjab and Multan. He was also a great Sufi saint of his time, Dargah is situated at Multan in Pakistan.

Khawaja Bakhtiar Kaki:

He was a great Sufi saint of I His Dargah is situated at Delhi near Qutub Minar.
