I am a student of the 10th class. I have chalked out a programme and I strictly follow it. My life is well regulated.

I get up with the cock-crow and go out for a long walk along the canal. I ease myself in the fields, then wash my hands and face and brush my teeth. This is followed by a massage with mustard oil and some physical exercise.

Breathing and balancing exercises are a part and parcel of my daily programme. After a brief rest, I have a dip and a swim in the canal and then a thorough bath at a well on the bank of the canal. This gives me a new life every-day.

However hard I may work from morning till evening, I don’t feel tired. I feel mentally and physically alert the whole day. I return home at 7 a.m. and have a glass of boiled milk which proves a tonic after bodily exercise. I study hard till 9 a.m. and I take my meals. At 9.30 I dress myself, take my satchel and cycle to school.

ADVERTISEMENTS:

I reach school at 10.45 a.m. and go straight to my room. The bell rings at 9.55 a.m. We have our prayer in chorus. Then the teacher takes the roll-call. After it, serious work begins. It goes on for four periods till 1.30 p.m. when we have half an hour’s recess.

I do not waste a single minute. In the class, I am all attention to the teacher. If I don’t follow or understand a thing I always stand up and request the teacher to explain it to me again. I never give any teacher a chance for complaint.

I do my work neatly and carefully. I put love into my work. I am in the good books of my teachers. They all love and like me. I often get a cheer and a pat from each one of my teachers. During the recess, I go to the library and read new books or newspapers or some magazines. I never eat dirty things from the street hawkers. I take milk or fruit from the school tuck-shop only.

The school closes at 4 p.m. and I go home straight. I change my clothes, have a little refreshment and go to the school playground. I have a game of hockey and also a game or two of tennis. This keeps me physically fit. I regard physical fitness as a moral duty.

ADVERTISEMENTS:

I return home at 6 p.m. and am busy with my studies till 8 p.m. when I have my dinner. I lie down on my cot and read some general book for half an hour. Then again I study till 10 p.m. when I close my books and go to bed. I enjoy a sound sleep and wake up refreshed at about 6 a.m. This is my daily routine.
