A promising hockey player, Jude Menezes was born on August 5, 1971 in Mumbai, Maharashtra. He is also popularly called by his nickname ‘Judee’.

He received his higher education from St. Andrews College, Mumbai and studied history as well as psychology. Presently, he is employed in the Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.

In the domestic circuit he plays for the Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd, He is a fine goalkeeper. He has played in the Senior Nationals from both Hyderabad and Bangalore. In 1998, he played in the Muruguppa Gold Cup from Chennai.

He made his international debut in 1992 in a match against Korea. Since then he has played in almost 150 international matches. He was included in the Indian squad selected for Olympic 2000 at Sydney.

His most memorable moment in his hockey career came in the Prime Minister’s Gold Cup when he saved two penalty strokes in the tie-breaker in the final. He has also played in two World Cups of1998 and 2002.
