Deepika Pallikal is a female squash player representing India on international front. Her complete name is Deepika Rebecca Pallikal. She was born on 21st September, 1991 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. She has been maintaining the career best ranking at number 15 recently published by Women’s International Squash Players’ Association (WISPA).

She has been playing squash from the age of 10 years. At a young age of 20 years, she had clinched various international titles and maintained an excellent world ranking. She played her first international tournament when she was studying in 6th standard. But her age never diminished her skills. She possesses a hand for squash and with a levelled head plays the game and wins impressively. She is a right handed player. She had registered victories in German Open, Dutch Open, French Open, Australian Open and Scottish Open on the European Junior Squash Circuit.

Deepika takes her training classes at ICL-TNSRA Academy at Chennai. She trains under the guidance and supervision of Cyrus Poncha and Major (rtd) S.Maniam. Sarah Fitz-Gerald is her official coach. In November 2011, Deepika created history by becoming the first ever Indian female player to enter the league of last eight players by reaching the Quarter finals of World Open Squash Championship. The year 2011 has been a great year for Deepika. She started at rank of 29 in the beginning of the year and improved her ranking to 17 by the end of the year. She won the third WISPA title of the year, ‘Crocodile Challenge Cup’ in Hong Kong in December. This victory of hers led her to climb the high ranks of the game. WISPA has ranked her at 15th position in the latest ranking reports. This is her career best performance. She clinched her first WISPA title of the year in the month of September. She won the Orange County Open in Irvine, California. She won the second title at United States of America at another WISPA tour event. Deepika also reached the semi finals of Buler Challenge Cup in Hong Kong and in World Tour Des Pyramides Open in France. She had left behind all her fellow counterparts from the country and reached an impressive spot.

Apart from her dazzling performance in the arena of squash, she had received various offers from the South film industry. She had turned down all the offers citing the reason that she wants to concentrate on her sports and improvise her rankings further. She is however endorsing various products through advertisements. People call her as Indian Sharapova due to her good looks and great performance in squash.
