Tympana Popat is a famous badminton player. She is the best player of the game in India. She was born on January 18, 1978 in Mumbai. She was educated at J.B. Petit High School for girls in Mumbai.

She did her 11th and 12th from Mount Carmel College at Bangalore. She has been trained at the B.P.L. Academy which is run by Prakash Padukone.

Aparna has won National Championship of badminton many times. She is currently ranked 28th in the world. She won silver medal at the Commonwealth Games at Kuala Lumpur. The tournament consisted of six days of the team championship ties and five days of individual events.

Aparna’s match against Ng Me Fen in the quarterfinal was close. But the most crucial match was of the semifinal, versus Julia Mann of England who was the second seed in the tournament. Aparna lost the final against Kelly Morgan and had to be satisfied with the silver medal. She is expected to perform even better in the future.
