The Editor, Hindustan Times, New Delhi-01.

Sir,

It is through the columns of your esteemed daily that I would like to draw the kind attention of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi towards the insufficient and irregular water supply in our area.

ADVERTISEMENTS:

The people of the area are faced with the acute problem of water. Particularly during the season of summer, it has become all the more serious. It has become a cause of conflict. Very often people can be seen arguing over the issue of water. Sometimes it turns into fight. At the water taps, people have to make a queue, because water is supplied only for a short action of two-three hours. The pressure of water is also low crime is not fixed. Sometimes water is supplied in the early hours of the morning.

People have to wake up very early to get water. Their sleep is disturbed. Several times water comes during morning. The office goers have to wait for water. As a result, they get late for their offices and become victims of the anger of the officers. After all, their bosses cannot tolerate late comers when it becomes a matter of routine.

It is unfortunate that the people of the area despite paying their taxes timely do not get the basic amenities. The Corporation has turned a blind eye to the problem. It is quite natural that the citizens in return of their taxes expect proper civic amenities from Corporation. But it does not bother to make proper arrangements for water and power supplies.

The authorities need to take immediate and urgent action to ensure regular water supply in our area so that we may be able to carry on our routine smoothly and may not have to face other problems.

Thanking you,

Yours faithfully,
