The proper study of Mankind is Man.

Is Man is fundamental to the scheme of Universe? It is a big question that different mores have answered in different ways. For Christians, Man is created is the image of God and all other beings-fish, fowl, bird and other creatures-survive only for Human Beings

For Hindus, Man is just a being which is apparent by Avatars. God create in diverse forms-from fish to Lord Krishna with Narasimha [Man-Animal] in between. Human being becomes perfect only through awareness and alertness. Now-scientists are asking and answering the questions; philosophers are pretending, adding more content on this topic and making the debate more confusing.

Brando Carter was perhaps, the first to used “anthropic principle” in 1973 at a conference held in Krakow. He state: “humanity does hold a special place in the universe after all”. In his volume, “Large Number Consensus and the Anthropic Principle in Cosmology*, he saw: “Although our situation is not necessarily vital, it is predictably honored to some extent”.

In Philosophy, the anthropic principle basically assumes that “If something must be true for us, as humans, to exist; then it is true simply because we exist.” Or, any valid theory of the universe must be reliable with the survival of human beings in the universe.

According to Wikipedia, “the proponents of the anthropic principle suggest that we live in a modifying world, i.e., a universe that appears to be “perfect” to allow the continuity of life as we know it.” It has been dispute that the anthropic principle will elucidate the physical constants such as the number of magnitudes in the universe, and other planetary life.

If the importance of nature’s fundamental constants changed then, we will have altogether a different globe, or Universe. For example, if the strengths of forces that hold atoms together were slightly different, one possible consequence might be that the Earth’s oceans would freeze.

Water which is the basic element to prolong life is unique in its property and is lighter as solid than as liquid. Therefore, ice sheets glide and protect the layer that stops the deeper waters from freezing. Had water require this property so that the primeval oceans would never stayed liquid for the life to evolve. And, reasonably, we would not be here to contemplate over our fate and destiny.

This is the main core of the anthropic principle. It starts from the reality of our continuation and then dispute that the specific properties of the universe that emerged from the thump that made the emergence of humans foreseeable.

The sole and atypical properties of water depend on a specific alteration of the primary constants. Why are these constants being accurate? Because, if they weren’t here then we also wouldn’t be here, that is, to errand our continuation.

There are many more opinions on this. Take Carbon, which is also essential for life. It is made in stars by the mixture of three helium atoms. It is by an unusual “quirk” in the major energies of helium, beryllium, and carbon that stars make excess of carbon. Change it by just 0.0001 per cent and see there shall be no carbon. And in the same way there will be No Man on this earth!

Stephen Hawking suggests that our universe is not as ‘unique’ as the anthropic theory proposes. Hawking puts a 98% probability for a universe like ours to result from a Big Bang. Or, it is even possible for it to come out of nothing. His new theories are being discussed but before that, hawking himself asked: “Why does the universe go to all the anxiety of accessible?”

The anthropic theory marks down the hypothetical elucidation for the precise values of the fundamental constants. Its adversary deflates it because this theory forbids us from envisioning other possible structures of life than our own. It is true, but visualizes: If the weak force that combines tiny creatures had been just a crumb weaker, then the hydrogen would convert to helium without making any of the heavier elements. If the strong force had been a bit stronger, the universe would not even have had any atoms.
