The first and foremost principle ,of Jainism is Ahimsa or non-injury to anyone. No faith in Yajna, sacrifice and ritualism, no faith in caste system, attainment of salvation. According to Jainism the main goal of a man is to attain salvation kaivalya) or freedom from the cycle of birth and rebirth. This salvation an be achieved by following the three jewels (Triratnas) of right faith, right knowledge and right conduct. Mahavir often met Bimbisara and Ajatshatru. He died at Pavapuri near Rajagriha in 468 BC.
