Paragraph about the development of painting under the Mughals

The Mughals made positive contributions in the field of painting. Humayan brought with him two Persian painters and this made great progress under Akbar. Of the painters of Akbar’s time Daswant and Jasawani deserve special mention. It may be noted here that during Akbar’s time European painting was introduced in the Mughal Court. Painting made steady progress under Jahangir and Shahjahan. However, Aurangzeb’s reign saw a decline in painting and dispersal of the painters from the Mughal Court. These painters migrated to different regional kingdoms where they received encouragement and support. This gave rise to different schools of painting such as Rajput painting, Kangra School etc
