It is often said “that a friend in need is a friend indeed. But the experience of the people today belies it and is under sharp criticism. Now we can find many people who say “If you want to end friendship, lend money”. Helping a friend is a noble and pious duty. But, strangely, that once money is lent to a friend who needs it turns to him an enemy when one asks for its return. The assistance which should have strengthened the love, proves otherwise. It produces the feelings of ill-will and bitterness, and paves way for enmity. Even the nearest and the dearest become hostile towards the lender. The best friends never remain friends even. The charm of life they were enjoying when they were friends finishes. Therefore one should not be a borrower or a lender.
