Sarojini Naidu was one of the main leaders of India’s freedom struggle. She was born on 13th February 1879 in Hyderabad. Her father’s name was Dr. Aghornath Chattopadhyaya and mother’s name was Varasundari. Sarojini had interest towards poetry from a very early age. Later on, she was known as The Nightingale of India’. When India became free in 1947, she was appointed as the Governor of the United Provinces (now Uttar Pradesh). She died on 2nd March 1949.
