The impact of the Great Depression was felt worldwide.

i. As the European economy was dependent on America, the results of the Depression were disastrous. It resulted in large-scale unemployment, poverty and starvation. By 1931 there were more than 30 million workers unemployed.

ii. Some of the most reliable banks were forced to close down.
