The ‘two nation’ theory was put forward by the Muslim League led by Mr. Jinnah. According to this theory, India consisted of two separate nations inhabited by the Hindus and the Muslims. But this theory was a total falsification of the entire history of the Indian people because:

I. From medieval times, the inter-mixing of the Hindus and the Muslims in India developed a common culture.

II. Both the communities fought together against a common enemy (Britishers).

III. During the National Movement both Hindus and Muslims suffered repression as one people.

ADVERTISEMENTS:

The-two nation theory attacked the entire basis of Indian nationalism.
