The Centre for Entrepreneurship Development in Gujarat was established in order to provide entrepreneurial training to educated unemployed persons, women technicians, rural artisans, ex-servicemen, physically handicapped persons, etc. to help development facilities so that they can come out as successful entrepreneurs.

The CED conducts entrepreneurship development programmes for those persons who are selected from amongst the employees, workers, merchants, graduates and women. Training is being provided to the above categories at its six centres. Training programmes are designed to provide low cost high quality trainings to the entrepreneurs.

Before conducting the training programmes, a survey of investment opportunity is made for identifying industries having good scope in the area. Then appropriate linkage is to be developed with various agencies which provide support and service to entrepreneurs in getting finance, readymade sheds, raw materials and other inputs. Programmes of training covers both theoretical and practical training. It is considered as the most comprehensive programme covering various packages like project counselling, motivation development, project plans and overall confidence development.
