5 important Characteristics of management Profession:

The characteristics of management profession are:

(a) An organized and systematic body of knowledge,

(b) A formal method of acquiring such knowledge and skill through established institutions of business management,

(c) Formation of management association,

(d) Growth of professional management consultants and

(e) Growing of emphasis on the ethical conduct of management personnel.

In 1963 the American Management Association stated that “Management is rapidly involving as a true profession with definable principles and with a body of reference points strong enough to differentiate manager from non-manager and to correlate basic goals for its members, regardless of the nature of their business, their geographical location or the activity with which they are affiliated”.
