Dear Father,

In this letter, I am writing about how whaling expedition was successfully carried on the night of 15. When we were in the North Atlantic Sea, we saw after 1:00 am, a 25m male whale prancing. We chased it for one hour. We met with success when the harpoon pierced its body. It struggled to escape but could not be successful. Sometime later, the huge body was brought ashore at the whaling station of Hvalur. The flensers started stripping the skin and the blubber of the whale immediately. By morning the whale was all in bones, skin, blubber and meat. The entrails attracted the gulls.
