My dear Arvind,

I was extremely sorry to know that your mother passed away last week.

As I used to visit your house frequently, I knew her well. Though she was not highly educated in the formal sense, she was very accomplished and cultured, very kind and sympathetic; she was an ideal Indian woman. It is very sad to think that such a woman was claimed by death at the early age of 45. In her death you and the members of your family have lost a source of selfless affection and a pillar of spiritual strength.

Mysterious are the ways of God, and we have to bow to them. I sympathise with you and your sister in your bereavement. May your mother’s soul rest in peace.

Yours lovingly, Rajesh.
