Dear Auntie,

I am so late in replying to your kind letter. But I hope you’ll excuse me when you know the reason.

An accident may happen in no time. Last week, our father was returning from his office. He was riding his scooter as usual. A truck was coming from the opposite direction and a tonga from behind. The road was narrow suddenly my father saw a small child running to cross the road. In order to save the child, father applied the brakes. He saved the child but was himself knocked down by the tonga. Fortunately the truck driver stopped and helped my father. His left arm broke and his head got several injuries. He was taken to the civil hospital by the good hearted truck driver. He also informed us on the phone and we rushed to the hospital.

He was discharged from the hospital this morning but is still confined to bed. Now there is nothing to worry about.

So, now you would certainly excuse me for not writing to you. Rest is fine here. Mummy has bought those saris you had asked her. She is now waiting for your next visit.

With regards to dear uncle,

Yours affectionately,
