Dear Sir,

Please accept my thanks for calling me for an interview for the post of Assistant. Headmaster in your school. I shall gladly come.

ADVERTISEMENTS:

In the meantime, please allow me to present my case briefly in anticipation of the interview. Normally I would not have written this letter but since some changes have taken place during the past five or six days. I have thought it advisable to inform you about these before the interview.

As already stated I am working as quite a senior hand in my present post. The school authorities have all along been kind and generous to me. Only a couple of months ago during the course of informal discussion with the Headmaster, I was told that most probably I would be his successor after his retirement in a year’s time. Three days ago another very responsible person almost convinced me on the same point. As such I feel my prospects in this school are not the less bright.

Much as I would like to join your school after I prove myself worthy of it in the interview, assurance of the better prospects here have somewhat brought about a change in my thinking. Now I feel it quite unnecessary to leave my school as Asset. Headmaster to join your school only in the same capacity. Here my future is more or less a certainty. There I have yet to prove my worth. It is so risky that I will not dare to take chances.

As such would you kindly consider me for direct appointment as Headmaster for your school? I understand that the present incumbent is due to retire next month. I hardly need to write again about my qualifications and experience to support my eligibility.

ADVERTISEMENTS:

I shall wait for your reply anxiously. Meanwhile I remain, Sir,

Yours affectionately
