In the high priced hotels, the cost of air-conditioning does not contribute to a significant part of the Hotel. But in the case of hotels priced at Rs. 1000/- or lower the air conditioning cost will be significant 10-12% and it is in such cases that the plant selection needs review.
Hence selection of air-conditioning systems and the equipment assumes considerable importance. In a hotel the air-conditioned areas can be subdivided as follows –
i. Guest rooms block: Guest room, corridor, fresh air supply.
ii. 24 hours areas; Lobbies, coffee shop.
