Two years later in 1929, the Indian National Congress held its annual session on the banks of river Ravi at Lahore. Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru was the Congress President. The Congress resolved that it would not rest until the country won Poorna Swaraj ( Complete Independence ). On January 26, 1930 the people took a pledge to struggle for Poorna Swaraj. Twenty years later when our Constitution was ready, we choose 26th January, 1950 to adopt our Constitution.
