(i) Dr. B.R. Ambedkar organised Dalits into the ‘Depressed Classes Association’ in 1930.

(ii) He clashed with Mahatma Gandhi at the Second Round Table Conference by demanding separate electorates for the dalits.

(iii) Dalits began organising themselves, demanding reserved seats in educational institutions and a separate electorate which they could get only when they were politically empowered and for that Dr. Ambedkar fully supported them.
