The main reasons for the success of the Muslims in India were:

1. There was no unity among the Indian rulers. The Rajputs were always fighting with each other and never united even against a common foe.

2. The Rajputs were not conversant with latest warfare techniques.

3. The caste system prevalent amongst them gave rise to mutual jealousies. The defense of the country also rested only in the hands of kshatriyas.

ADVERTISEMENTS:

4. The Rajputs’ love for fighting neutralized their resources. They were forever fighting with their neighbors, whereas the Muslims fought unitedly and only against the infidels.
