Short notes on Seasonal Variations in Temperature

(i) Temperature according to Seasons:

i. In summer temperature occasionally rises to 50°C or more in some parts of the Rajasthan desert. On the other hand, it is around 20°C in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir.

ii. On a winter night, temperature at (Drass) in Jammu and Kashmir is as low as -45°C.

iii. On the other hand Tiruvanantapuram experiences temperature of 20°C on this night.

iv. On January 8, 2006 Delhi experienced 0.2°C temperature the lowest in the last 70 years.

(ii) Temperature according to Day and Night:

i. Certain places have wide difference between day and night temperatures.

ii. In Thar desert day temperature rises to 50°C and comes down to near freezing point the same night about 20°C.

iii. On the other hand, there is hardly any difference in day and night temperatures in the Andaman and Nicobar islands. The same remains in Kerala.
