The Ram Bag of Amritsar is noted for its beauty. I visit this garden every morning and evening. It is full of life both in the morning and evening. It is the health resort of the town. It is a boon for the people of Amritsar. The famous garden was laid out by Maharaja Ranjit Singh. It was his summer residence. Such gardens and parks are the lungs of big cities.
As soon as I enter the garden, a new life springs up within me as it were. It is the fairest place in Amritsar. We enter through the main gate which is very massive. Soon we find ourselves among green, tall, cypress, mango and pine trees.
They give a cool, dark shade. Under them there reigns peculiar calm and quiet. The grassy lawns are cool and crisp. The flower-beds are a store-house of beauty. They add a splash of colour to the fresh green of the lawns. The air is surcharged with sweet perfume and fragrance. It refreshes the mind. The bracing and invigorating atmosphere of the garden restores health. One feels rejuvenated. Multi-coloured flowers and green verdure soothe the eyes. The sweet and merry notes of the birds are very pleasant to the ears.
There are some rare trees, flowers and fruit in the garden. It is a place of love and peace. It is matchless in beauty and grandeur. Roses, jasmines, narcissuses, and daisies bloom on all sides. Nature is seen at her best here. It is a paradise on earth. The fountains play and give out a melodious music.
