Arguments for :

1. A rich person starts considering himself superior to others because he thinks that money makes the mare go. He does get status in society and is able to give a material-shape to his ambition. The result is that he ignores all the basic norms of social life and becomes self-centered. Thus, his thinking is corrupted.

2. Richness makes man to forget God and also to fear Him. A man remembers God only when he is passing through the adverse period of life. As a result of it, a rich person is unable to think properly and develop proper outlook during his life. He will always try to get satisfaction in becoming richer even if he is to exploit the poor people to the maximum extent. He becomes indifferent to the call of his conscience and so he will be ready to do anything that may increase his wealth.

3. A wealthy person generally develops a liking for loose life as he has enough money to waste. He indulges in sensual pleasures and the result is that he no longer remains moral. If he happens to be charitable it is just to make a show of his richness. Thus he develops false values of life and the result is perversion.

Arguments against :

1. It is not wealth that makes a man bad. It is rather his thinking. A wealthy person with the help of his wealth can do many things which ordinary people cannot do ; he can get even success in life. He can be an honorable person. He can also be a benefactor. So richness is a curse if the cursed person makes use of it in a cursed manner.

2. Richness is not a curse rather it is a blessing. Man can enjoy life, realize his dreams and can also satisfy his ambitions. A large number of people die without realizing their wishes but a rich person can realize them. Thus he is rather a lucky person.

3. Possession of wealth gives social status. Love of power is the fundamental weakness of man and a rich person by making the people to worship him can definitely be self-satisfied psychologically. This is also a great satisfaction to the rich person.
