India is my country. I am proud of my country. I call myself an Indian. India is the largest democratic country in the world. It’s a land of ancient culture and tradition. The wisdom of the Vedic songs enlightens the world, and guides the human race to the path of peace and coexistence.

India is rich in minerals, agricultural products, consumer goods, spices, textiles, etc. It is a major nuclear power of the day, and well advanced in science and technology.

India has a large population comprising of various castes, religions, languages and customs. But there is unity in diversity. Our national anthem is Jana-Gana-manna Adhinayaka. We hoist our tricolour national flag on the Independence Day that is 15th August.

The country is run by a government, elected by the people by vote. The parliament makes rules and takes decisions in all important matters, local and international, in the interest of the public.
