An elephant is a very large and wise animal. It is huge and has four feet. It has legs which look like pillars. Its skin colour is dark grey. White elephants are also there. But they are rare.
It has two large fan-like ears. It has a short tail. It has a long and powerful trunk. It is so wonderful that it can pick up even a pin. With its trunk an elephant sucks water and eats its food.
A male elephant has long curved tusks. The tusks are very costly. They are used as ivory for making beautiful things.
It is a very useful animal. It helps us carry large wood logs from the jungle. It is used for hunting and riding.
