Dussehra is an important festival of India. It is a Hind festival. It is celebrated before Diwali. On this day, Lo Rama killed the demon king, Ravana.

People hold ‘Ram Lalas’ for ten days. They worship Lord Rama. During the ‘Ram Lalas’, there is great hush and bustle. The effigies of Ravana, Kumbhakaran a Meghnad are built. Men women and children gather in thousands at the Ram Lila grounds.

In the evening, the tall effigies of Ravana, Kumbhakaran and Meghnad are set on fire. The crackers in the effigies burst. They are reduced to ashes.

We can learn many good things from Lord Rama’s life. We can, thus, lead an ideal life. This festival teaches us the victory of good over evil.
