Write down the chief tenets of bi-polar theory of education given by John Adams

Speaking of education as a bi-polar process, Adams summed up as follows:

1. It is a bi-polar process in which one personality acts upon another in order to modify the development of that other.

2. The process is not only a conscious but a deliberate one. The educator has clearly realized the intention of modifying the development of the educand.

3. The means by which the development of the educand is to be modified are twofold:

(a) The direct application of the educator’s personality; and

(b) The use of knowledge in its various forms.
